A Beginner’s Guide to Action Pistol Sports
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to step beyond the indoor range and into the world of action pistol sports—this is your opportunity.
Interest in action shooting sports is growing rapidly at our club, and we’re excited to offer a brand-new course designed to take your shooting experience to the next level of fun, challenge, and excitement.
Whether you’ve only shot on a traditional indoor range or you’re simply curious about what it’s like to shoot on the clock, this session will open the door to a whole new side of the shooting world.
This exclusive class is an ideal introduction to USPSA, IDPA, and Steel Challenge, with side-by-side comparisons to help you understand the different rules, scoring systems, and equipment requirements.
You’ll leave with greater clarity on which sport best matches your goals and interests, and the confidence to move forward with action shooting.
The course is split into two parts:
• A classroom session covering fundamentals, safety, gear, and what to expect at your first match.
• A live-fire downrange segment giving you hands-on experience with practical shooting in a safe, guided setting.
Course Objective
To provide club members with a solid foundation in action pistol sports, including scoring systems, equipment selection, divisions, and basic rules—and to introduce the thrill and fast-paced fun of dynamic shooting in a safe, low-pressure environment.
